Caterham Cars and Team Parker Racing now organise slalom track days at Dunsfold Airfield using their own cars. This is a fantastic way of getting in some practice at thrashing a seven around a set course of markers with no other cars anywhere near you. 30 seven owners and non-owners arrived and were divided into 5 teams.
In all there were 4 different circuits set up during the day, and generally every driver had one practice lap and three timed laps using laser beam timers. Every lap finished with a compulsory 360 degree donut around a witches hat. The cars had been set up with retreaded super hard tyres and unusual suspension setups to make them very susceptable to sliding sideways.
Times were recorded and the fastest driver on the day (Peter Charmichael) won a prize and the members of the fastest team (My Team!!) won a bag of car cleaning products from Comma. After that the Stig of Top Gear fame came down and took groups of 5 owners around the Top Gear test track for a few laps in their own cars at reasonable speed.
