Welcome to our Caterham Super Seven Website

Latest News

It is mostly about our old car - a Caterham Super Seven and some of the fun we had with it.

Unfortunately our seven has been sold and is now being looked after by the Tiptree Crew (careful on those slippery roads Ian!). Until the new faster version arrives I have reloaded this site so all the previous pictures, information and adventures are available to all.

Why Seven Ecstasy?

Ec.sta.sy - 1. A state of emotion so intense that one is carried beyond rational thought and self-control ; 2. The state of being beside one's self or rapt out of one's self ; 3. a state in which the mind is elevated above the reach of ordinary impressions

If you have ever had a chance to drive a Super Seven you will know that ecstasy is the feeling you get. They are extreme cars and tremendous fun.

The Seven was originally designed in 1957 by Lotus founder, Colin Chapman. He supposedly came up with the design for the car in under a week. It is a wonderful example of a truly minimalist      engineering design, with its steel tube aluminium clad chassis, and high power to weight ratio.

The Seven has had minor modifications and adjustments over the last 47 years but is still fundamentally the same and is the benchmark used to measure other sports cars.
